Our Read-Aloud is one of our most popular programs. Its goal is to help kids learn to love reading and writing!

Who We Are

The Arctic Reading Circle is a non-profit organization of passionate readers. It runs programs to encourage children to find joy in language, and develop practical reading and writing skills.

Our Mission

Creating more diverse and free spaces where all children can read and write.

Our Vision

A world where all children can be inspired to read, write, and grow.

Our Definition of Diversity

We recognize all diverse experiences, including (but not exclusively) LGBTQIA+, Indigenous, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color, gender diversity, people with disabilities*, and ethnic, cultural, and religious minorities. Adapted from another non-profit called We Need Diverse Books. We Need Diverse Books is not an affiliate link.

*We subscribe to a broad definition of disability, which includes but is not limited to physical, sensory, cognitive, intellectual, or developmental disabilities, chronic conditions, and mental illnesses (this may also include addiction). Also, we subscribe to a social model of disability, which presents disability as made by barriers in the social environment. This is due to a lack of equal access, stereotyping, and other forms of marginalization.
